Our Land & Habitats Business Unit currently has a need for a Land Use Project Manager on a fixed term contract basis. This role involves hybrid working and will be based in Boora for a minimum of two days a week. The role will report to the Land & Habitats Land Use Manager. The Land Use Project Manager is responsible for delivering strategic projects on BNM lands for industrial and other uses, optimising the return on land assets and resources within the estate.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Responsible for delivery of key projects within the Land Use team including. 
    • Preparing the strategic land plan for industrial uses to optimise the return on assets and resources within the asset; 
    • Determining the optimum use of the lands based on Commercial, Biodiversity and supporting strategic infrastructure; 
    • Developing an integrated land use process (included a zoned map) which governs land use allocation across the estate; 
    • Ensuring commercial lands, commercial and strategic projects have adequate title for proposed development.
  • Collaboration with key Stakeholders both internally and externally on determining land use and maintaining progress within each project.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and customers to ensure project requirements are met and communicated effectively.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, develop contingency plans as needed, and escalate to stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Provide regular project status updates to steering group meetings, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, internal business units project teams and operations, to ensure project success.
  • Monitor and control project expenses against budgets, ensuring effective cost management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project
    Management, Business Administration or Technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a
    similar role.
  • Proven experience managing complex
    projects from initiation to closure, including budget and timeline management.
  • Strong analytical and
    problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and develop
    mitigation plans.
  • Excellent communication and
    interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and
    external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time
    management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in the real estate or
    renewables sector is an advantage.
