Our Recycling Business Unit currently has a need for a Transport Supervisor on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Lusk and Donore Road and will report to the Depot Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible in assisting the depot manager in the delivery of waste collection services across the service area by supervising a team of drivers and operatives as well as managing a fleet of Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCV’s). Ensure customer service levels are maintained to a high standard by liaising with collection crews, maintenance teams and the wider admin team within the company. Heavy plant cover driver

The Role:

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

• Collaborate with the Manager to oversee and manage the overall operation and team, providing support and assistance as needed. To assist with cover at Donore Road as and when required.

• Coordinate transport operations including planning routes, human resources and managing vehicle resources effectively. Resolve any breakdown issues in a timely fashion to ensure a high level of customer service is maintained with no interruption to planned services. To assist with cover at Donore Road as and when required.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures, including road transport laws and safety regulations. This includes a review of driver daily vehicle checks on the relevant software package & review of tachograph data. To assist with cover at Donore Road as and when required.

• Make informed decisions to optimize resources, minimize costs, and maximize efficiency in transport operations. Review route performance with drivers as part of the daily debrief. To assist with cover at Donore Road as and when required.

• Oversee maintenance schedules including periodic inspections & defect reports to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and presented to a high standard. Liase with in house maintenance team as well as third parties to ensure vehicles are maintained and repaired as required by the business. To assist with cover at Donore Road as and when needed. To be provide cover for Weighbridge operator when required to do so. To assist heavy plant operators during busy periods throughout the day.

• Assist in the delivery of Health & Safety training, specifically Risk Assessments & Toolbox Talks, to HGV Drivers & Operatives.

• All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of employees and members of the public.

• Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:


– CPC Transport Management or similar desirable

– Good English and communication skills

– Eligible to work in Ireland


– 4 years minimum in a similar role

– Industry/Sector: Transport/Logistics/Waste

– Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, overall good PC skills

– Valid C Licence, CPC & Tacho cards an advantage
