Our Recycling Business Unit currently has a need for a Finance Assistant on a Permanent, Full-Time basis. The role will be based in Bord Na Mona Recycling Newbridge and will report to the Finance Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of Management Accounts and Financial Reporting for the Resource Recovery division. This includes refreshing monthly reports, updating weekly KPI reports, processing journals, and performing balance sheet activities as part of the role.

The Role:
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
Assist with the preparation of Management Accounts and Financial Reporting for the Resource Recovery division, including refreshing monthly reports and updating weekly KPI reports.
Process journals and perform balance sheet activities, including account reconciliations and resolving queries with colleagues in the business to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
Perform daily and monthly updates on critical business Excel files to provide BnM end users with full visibility, enabling them to make informed decisions on accrual and prepayment journals.
Process weekly KPI reports for the Senior Leadership Team, providing accurate information on business performance.
Process monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all intercompany charges are invoiced to the relevant legal entities each month.
Prepare and manage bank reconciliations.
Assist with the completion of supplier reconciliations on a monthly basis, including required follow-ups with suppliers and business units.
Collaborate with the finance team on ad hoc projects.
Develop positive working relationships with the Finance team and Resource Recovery teams.
Communicate effectively within and across teams, recognizing that strong teamwork is essential for achieving optimal business performance.
Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety management systems and co-operate fully with all company provisions for Health and Safety, as well as the welfare of co-employees and the public.
The Person:
Part-qualified accountant with two to five years of office experience (minimum of 2 years required).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint.
Good IT proficiency and the ability to manage time effectively to meet agreed deadlines.
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem resolution.
Openness to change and a “can-do” attitude.
Team player, working collaboratively to achieve company goals.
High proficiency in the English language is a requirement, alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
